“I think you should just let it be. Then you got the essence of what it is. If you’re trying to do something you think you should be doing, you’ve lost it already.” — Neil Young Although Neil Young’s quote pertains to music, art is art. He’s talking about spontaneity. Damn the thieves
You know I don’t like dwelling on the negative but every once in a while ya just gotta vent and either take a stand or move on. So here’s my vent: I keep reading stuff about a new kind of art thievery going on. In a way it’s the same old-same old. You know, lazy-assContinue reading “Damn the thieves”

Awakenings in the Mist

I’m still squeezing inContinue reading “Mundane life calls me”
The Girl on the Ridge
Working on the Girl. Here’s a bit of underpainting on the final canvas of the three, where she is dancing in the sun.
Art Quotes
“Learn from the great masters and then be your own master.” I heard this spoken by the wonderful artist, Florent Farges. I can’t find the specific YouTube video (He has many hundreds!) to pull the exact quote so consider it a paraphrase. Life changing words ❤️ Freeing words
Chasing waterfalls
I love waterfalls. I love painting them. Just did a quick check and counted 10 waterfalls hanging on my walls. My first waterfalls were somewhat accurate depictions of Ash Cave and the upper falls at Old Man’s Cave in Hocking Hills, Ohio, with one abstract exception, which was my favorite (and the one for whichContinue reading “Chasing waterfalls”
